1957 BMW 503 Cabriolet Series I, one of 139 cabriolets produced. Finished in its original Papyrus with a dark blue power-operated convertible top, the car features chrome bumpers with guards, central kidney grilles, side grilles with integrated driving lights, bright side trim, fender-mounted antenna, driver-side mirror, and a lockable fuel-filler door. Body panels are aluminum over a steel ladder frame. Powered by a 3.2L aluminum-block V8 with dual Zenith carburetors, paired with a remotely mounted column-shifted four-speed manual transmission. Braking is via servo-assisted finned drum brakes, and suspension includes independent front double A-arms with Koni shocks and a live rear axle with torsion bars and Koni shocks. Recent mechanical work includes radiator re-core, fuel tank flush, water pump and electric fuel pump replacement, and rebuilt clutch and master cylinders.
