This 1972 Triumph Spitfire Mark IV has been transformed into a one-of-a-kind, GT6-powered sports car. It’s equipped with a 2.0L inline-six engine and a four-speed manual gearbox, both sourced from a GT6. The powertrain installation was part of a larger project that included a full repaint in Raspberry Pearl, new beige upholstery, and replacement chrome trim. The car’s striking Raspberry Pearl finish is complemented by a tan convertible top, while a black tonneau cover is included. The car rides on 15-inch aluminum alloy wheels, fitted with Dunlop Direzza tires, and has been upgraded with a rebuilt 3.27:1 differential for improved performance. The braking system consists of front discs and rear drums, and the suspension is comprised of front A-arms and a rear swing axle with a transverse leaf spring. Inside, the cabin features beige and black upholstery, with high-back seats that feature “Spit Six” embroidery. The interior also includes thick-pile carpet with black piping, and the wood dashboard holds Smiths instrumentation, including a 140-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. An aftermarket head unit has been installed along with 12V and USB charging ports for modern convenience. The car’s 2.0L inline-six engine, mated to dual Stromberg side-draft carburetors, is a reliable performer, and the seller has maintained it with a recent oil change and service of the ignition system.
