This 1978 Maserati Bora is a US-market example of the 4.9-liter V8 model, one of just 250 produced between 1971 and 1978. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Italdesign, the Bora features a sleek black exterior with pop-up headlights, a brushed stainless steel roof panel, European-style bumpers, black beltline trim, bright window accents, and quad exhaust outlets. Ceramic-coated 15″ Campagnolo alloy wheels wear Pirelli P4 tires. Under the hood, the mid-mounted 4.9-liter V8 has an aluminum block and heads, dual overhead camshafts per bank, hemispherical combustion chambers, and quad Weber DCNF carburetors, producing approximately 315 hp and 308 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transaxle. The Bora rides on a fully independent double-wishbone suspension with coil springs, telescopic shocks, and front/rear torsion bars, while vented discs on all four corners provide braking via the high-pressure LHM hydraulic system. Inside, the cabin features fixed-back black leather bucket seats, black carpeting, and a padded steering wheel framing Veglia Borletti instrumentation including a 200-mph speedometer and 8,000-rpm tachometer. Additional features include a hydraulic seat height and pedal box adjustment system, power windows, and a Blaupunkt Tucson stereo.
