This 1955 Ford Country Squire Station Wagon is a beautifully restored example of mid-century Americana, a car that once served as the family road trip vehicle for many across the United States. The Country Squire was Ford's top-of-the-line model for 1955, and this example retains all of the charm and practicality that made it a staple of suburban America. Finished in the classic Colonial White with faux wood paneling and contrasting tan window surrounds, the car is a true showpiece. The fiberglass woodgrain panels have been expertly restored with sharp decals and light woodgrain effects, providing an authentic look that recalls the days of real wood-bodied wagons. Power comes from a 272 cubic inch Y-block V8, which has been rebuilt and detailed to look just as Ford intended. The engine features Ford Red paint on the block, heads, and intake manifold, as well as a proper oil bath air cleaner. While the exhaust manifolds remain in raw cast iron, which gives them a slightly aged appearance, the rest of the engine bay is pristine. This V8 is paired with a 3-speed Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission, which shifts smoothly and is paired with 3.54 gears for a perfect blend of city liveliness and highway cruising ease. The car’s power steering makes it a joy to drive, and the dual exhaust system provides a satisfying rumble.
